In our ongoing home remedy series we have come to #3.  Drum roll please……..

Cayenne Pepper

What can you do with Cayenne Pepper besides make your food smoking hot?  How about ingesting it to cure hemorrhoids?  Stop squirming in your seat.  It sounds counter productive but this actually works!

My husband has a family history of hemorrhoids.  I know he will be thrilled to see that I have posted this on the world wide web.  If you go to a doctor he will most likely prescribe surgery - OUCH!  Or perhaps a topical cream that has some chemical in it.  So we went online and hunted down some home remedies.  One was soaking a tampon in apple cider vinegar and sticking it you know where.  I don´t think I have ever seen him squirm as much as when he got the mental picture of this when I suggested it.  I even had the tampon in hand.  Okay, maybe that was cruel on my part.  It didn´t seem like such a big deal to me, but then again he has never used a tampon before so I guess I can understand his concern.  Anthony decided he would rather suffer from a hemorrhoid than do this.

Then he read about Cayenne Pepper.  Huh.  Okay, why not?  The dosage was 1/4 tsp in 8 oz of water 3 times daily.  You can actually take up to 1 tsp of cayenne pepper in water.  Take as much as you can stand.  Drink up.  He did this for one full week and hasn´t suffered since and that was 5 months ago.  He suffered frequently enough with the bleeding that these last 5 months have been a great relief!

Now to embarass myself with this nasty subject:  I never had a hemorrhoid in my life until after I gave birth to my daughter.  It was never bad enough to have to take the cayenne pepper remedy but if you are a mother out there suffering from a hemorrhoid this remedy has no known negative effects if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.  There is a tremendous amount of research on the web to back that up - see for yourself.

Say goodbye to hemorrhoids folks!  Cayenne pepper is a non-toxic, chemical free, surgery free solution to those painful little piles….and will also help you save money because you can purchase it at your local grocery store!
